The Arcanaut ARC II – Phantom
Born of shadow and subtle menace, the Phantom is a darker, more elusive sibling in our Experimentals collection.
The Experimentals collection debuted in 2023 with the announcement of the Bonehead and Tiger Sh'Arc pieces which quickly sold out. In late 2024, these ambitious designs finally landed on the wrists of their new owners.
Born of shadow and subtle menace, the Phantom is a darker, more elusive sibling in our Experimentals collection.
The Phantom revisits the complex, multi-layered dial construction first seen in the Bonehead. A solid disc of Super-LumiNova sits beneath a resin-injected layer of aerospace-grade aluminium foam, topped by a German Silver chapter ring — now re-engineered as a structural “carrier” for both lume and foam.
This time, the SLN disc glows with an enigmatic violet hue. The hands are now PVD-coated in a custom-mixed purple tone, perfectly matched to the dial. The chapter ring is blasted silver German Silver, subtly updated for improved construction, with a sleek black strap grounding the colourway.
On the back you’ll find one of our signature GlowPatch style casebacks, hand-infilled with Super-Luminova and protected behind a sapphire crystal, now in the style of cowled phantom.
Limited to just 66 pieces, the Phantom shares its skeletonized case with our other experimental pieces, machined and finished in Denmark, with hands dial and caseback made in our workshop in Copenhagen.

Description
Case
316L stainless steel case, CNC milled north of Copenhagen with tolerances down to a micron (a thousandth of a millimetre or about the same size as a bacteria). The case has received our new "skeleton framing" decoration, with matte micro-blasted recesses. As with all our watches, the case features our signature "Pentablock" crown, which is shaped to follow the form of the case perfectly.
As with the case, the crown is CNC milled with a tolerance down to a micron to make it fit perfectly into the side of the case.
Hands
Laser-cut micro-welded, purple-PVD-coated steel hands, made in the southern part of Denmark and coated in Switzerland.
Caseback
This second generation "Glowpatch" shows a purple hooded phantom with angular white eyes.
The new design improves on the original concept with sharper lines, better lume performance, and more visual depth in the design thanks to of the two-part construction.
The decorative medallion is fitted with an o-ring and sits beneath a gasketed flat sapphire crystal, which ensures water resistance and the longevity of the lume.

Do you ship wordwide?
Yes, we do. The price (EUR 4,350) excludes import duties and tariffs, but includes free international shipping from Denmark.
Will I be able to select my serial number?
All 66 Phantom pieces will be individually numbered. You may request as many serial preferences as you like, and we'll endeavour to match you with your highest ranked choice pending availability.
When can I expect the watch to ship?
Watches will be assembled and delivered in batches throughout 2025 beginning in September. You will receive an accurate shipping estimate upon order confirmation.
How will my watch be delivered?
Your watch will ship in a Arcanaut-branded leather watch roll, protected by a Danish-made riveted cardboard box. A screwdriver for changing straps is included. If you order additional straps, these will be shipped within the box.
What is the total price of the watch delivered?
The retail price includes worldwide shipping, but it does not cover VAT, import duties, or other local taxes. The dial technology we developed for the Bonehead was too good to just be a one-off. In fact, we love the effect so much, we decided to build out an entire family of glow in the dark monsters. The Phantom and Green Fairy are the next steps in a cohort of luminous chaos we see as the future of Arcanaut.
The pairing of untreated German silver and purple hands was no accident. While purple may seem like a very vivid, almost synthetic colour, it is actually one of the colours that appears on the heating scale of steel (emerging just before the classic shade of "watchmaker's blue" appears). As such, it has been an option available to watchmakers long before the advent of PVD coating and has been favoured, in combination with German silver, by many German makers over the years.
The Glowpatch on the new Phantom and Green Fairy models has evolved. The second generation utilises a two-component construction. A wafer thin, laser cut black coated top layer adds depth to the design and razor sharp edges to the character. It sits atop a laser-etched aluminium disc that is blasted and filled with liquid lume. The light background of blasted aluminium acts as an excellent base for the lume and improves its charging ability and glow performance.
There will be only 66 Phantom pieces made, priced at EUR 4,350 excluding taxes but including shipping.
